- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 package (about 12 pieces) of pre-made bread dough or biscuits
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Sesame seeds (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Filling:
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is soft and translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- Add salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce to the beef. Mix well and remove the skillet from heat.
- Let the beef mixture cool slightly, then stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Assemble the Buns:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out each piece of dough into a flat circle on a floured surface.
- Place a spoonful of the beef and cheese mixture in the center of each dough circle.
- Fold the edges of the dough over the filling and pinch to seal, forming a ball.
- Place the buns seam side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the Buns:
- Brush the tops of the buns with the beaten egg.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the buns are golden brown.
- Serve:
- Remove from the oven and let the buns cool for a few minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
