Crock Pot Chicken and Provolone

Description

A delicious and easy Crock Pot recipe combining chicken, provolone cheese, and flavorful ingredients for a comforting dish.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large yellow onion, sliced
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 10 oz condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 oz onion soup mix
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 68 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme leaves
  • 1 cup French’s crispy fried onions

Instructions

  1. Spray inside of Crock pot well with cooking spray.
  2. Sprinkle the onions slices in the bottom.
  3. Place the chicken breasts on top of the onions.
  4. Pour the cream of chicken soup, onion soup mix and beef broth into a mixing bowl.
  5. Whisk well and pour the mixture over the chicken in the Crock pot.
  6. Place the lid on the pot and turn it on to LOW.
  7. Leave the chicken to cook for 5 hours.
  8. After 5 hours place the provolone cheese slices on top of the chicken in the Crock pot.
  9. Return the lid to the pot and continue cooking until the cheese is well melted, about 10 minutes.
  10. Remove the lid.
  11. Sprinkle the thyme and French’s crispy fried onions on top and leave the dish to continue cooking on LOW with no lid for about 10 minutes, just to warm up the crispy fried onions.
  12. Serve over cooked noodles or rice if desired.
  13. Enjoy!
