Instructions
- Prepare the Cake/Brownies: Cut the chocolate cake or brownies into 1-inch cubes.
- Assemble the Trifle Layers: In a trifle bowl or large glass dish, start with a layer of chocolate cake/brownie cubes. Sprinkle a little cherry liqueur or juice over the cake cubes for added moisture (optional). Spread a layer of cherry pie filling over the cake cubes. Add a layer of whipped cream on top of the cherry filling. Sprinkle some dark chocolate chunks over the whipped cream.
- Repeat Layers: Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of whipped cream on top.
- Add Toppings: Garnish with remaining chocolate chunks, chocolate chips, and fresh cherries.
- Chill: Refrigerate the trifle for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
