Description

A delicious beef stir-fry with a mix of colorful vegetables, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup carrots, sliced
  • 1 cup green beans or snow peas
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp neutral oil (canola or vegetable)
  • 2 tbsp water or broth

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef thinly against the grain and chop all vegetables into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a mixing bowl, marinate the beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce, cornstarch, and a drizzle of sesame oil. Let sit for 10–15 minutes.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef in batches until browned, about 1–2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  4. Add the remaining oil, then sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant. Toss in the broccoli, carrots, green beans, and bell pepper. Cook for 3–5 minutes until crisp-tender.
  5. Return the beef to the pan. Stir in the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, and water or broth. Stir-fry everything together until evenly coated and heated through. Let the sauce bubble for a minute to thicken.
  6. Sprinkle chopped green onions and a final dash of sesame oil. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add some red pepper flakes or sliced chili peppers during cooking.
  • Serve with cooked rice or noodles for a complete meal.
