- 2 tablespoons chili paste (For added spiciness.)
- 1–2 tablespoons brown sugar (Adjust sweetness to taste.)
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger (For aromatic flavor.)
- 1 ½ tablespoons toasted sesame oil (Layering flavor.)
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (Adjust to liking.)
- 3 tablespoons water (To thin the sauce.)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (For thickening.)
- ⅓ cup crushed peanuts (Adds crunch.)
- ⅓ cup diced green onion (For freshness.)
Instructions
- Cut the chicken breast into small, roughly 1-inch pieces.
- Add the chicken to a bowl with tamari or soy sauce, honey, and chili paste. Marinate for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
- Bring a pot of salted water to boil and cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together all sauce ingredients except water and cornstarch.
- Add sesame oil to a skillet over medium/low heat, sauté the diced green onion for 2-3 minutes, then add garlic for 1 minute.
- Add the marinated chicken to the skillet and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until cooked.
- Pour sauce into a pot over low heat. Whisk cornstarch with water and add to sauce, stirring until slightly thickened.
- Combine chicken, noodles, and sauce in the pot, mixing gently for 1-2 minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with peanuts and green onion.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of chili paste according to your spice tolerance.
- Letting the chicken marinate longer intensifies the flavor.
- You can use any type of noodles you prefer for this recipe.
