Description
A delicious homemade cranberry sauce made with fresh ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh cranberries (or thawed frozen cranberries)
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 4 tablespoons orange juice
- Zest of ½ an orange
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Wash the cranberries.
- Stir all the ingredients together in a medium saucepan over medium heat and bring to the boil.
- Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5-7 minutes or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
- Allow to cool slightly and transfer to a bowl or jar and allow to cool.
- Store in the fridge in an airtight container and serve warm, cold, or at room temperature.
Notes
- This sauce can also be served as a condiment with meats.
- It can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge.
