Cranberry Sauce

Description

A delicious homemade cranberry sauce made with fresh ingredients.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh cranberries (or thawed frozen cranberries)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons orange juice
  • Zest of ½ an orange
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Wash the cranberries.
  2. Stir all the ingredients together in a medium saucepan over medium heat and bring to the boil.
  3. Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5-7 minutes or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
  4. Allow to cool slightly and transfer to a bowl or jar and allow to cool.
  5. Store in the fridge in an airtight container and serve warm, cold, or at room temperature.

Notes

  • This sauce can also be served as a condiment with meats.
  • It can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge.
